Wiz publishes ASPM guide on centralizing AppSec scanner findings, citing React2Shell (CVE-2025-55182) as a prioritization example
Wiz published the first part of a blog series on operationalizing Application Security Posture Management (ASPM) with Wiz Code. It argues that AI models that find vulnerabilities and generate exploits, combined with AI-accelerated development, break manual AppSec triage workflows. The article uses React2Shell (CVE-2025-55182), a critical remote code execution flaw affecting Next.js applications, as an example of how one flaw in a core component produces thousands of findings across repositories and container images. This is vendor product and thought-leadership content. It describes no new incident, campaign or vulnerability.

React Server 19.2.0 - Remote Code Execution
The script targets CVE-2025-55182, a flaw in how React Server Components deserialize data sent to server function endpoints, as used by frameworks such as Next.js. An unauthenticated attacker with network access to an app running React 19.0.0 to 19.2.0 can trigger it with one crafted POST, no user interaction. It abuses object handling to run JavaScript on the server, giving command execution as the app user. It is a working-looking, blind PoC that scans a target list and leaks command output via DNS lookups; it only prints HTTP status.
Detalhes técnicos
- Wiz Integration Network (WIN) connectors ingest findings from third-party tools such as Snyk, Checkmarx and GitHub Advanced Security using read-only API access.
- Homegrown scanners can feed findings in through SARIF file ingestion.
- Imported assets are correlated with existing graph resources to deduplicate them and to trace a repository finding to its container image and the running workload.
- The Code Repositories inventory shows per-repository scanner coverage (SAST, SCA, Secrets, IaC) and finding volume, which exposes unscanned repositories and redundant tools.
- Parts 2 and 3 of the series will cover context-based prioritization with the Security Graph and remediation automation.
Remediação
- Centralize scanner findings and correlate them with cloud exposure and runtime context, so internet-facing or sensitive-data workloads are fixed first.
- Audit repositories for gaps in SAST and secret scanning coverage.
