1 fonte(s) · 1 atualização(ões) · publicado 02/11/2026 06:30 · coletado há 2 horas

Chainalysis, a blockchain analytics firm, disclosed on October 30 that an external actor used "offensive agentic techniques" to gain unauthorized access to undisclosed internal systems and tools. Non-sensitive customer data was accessed, including user IDs, full names, email addresses and organization role labels for users provisioned on the platform. The company says the incident is unrelated to the Binance heist from the previous week and that it is still determining which records for each customer organization were accessed.

Detalhes técnicos

  • Initial access was achieved via vulnerabilities in internal systems that were exploited by an AI-agent-driven attack; the specific systems and flaws were not disclosed.
  • Chainalysis reports no evidence that investigation content (graphs, notes, cases) or transaction query results were accessed.
  • It also reports no evidence that clear-text passwords, MFA secrets or user session tokens were accessed.
  • The exposed data could enable targeted follow-on phishing or credential-reset attacks against users.
  • No threat actor attribution was given.

Remediação

  • Customers should be vigilant for unexpected password reset requests or authentication prompts.
  • Enable two-factor authentication if not already active, with help from the Chainalysis account manager.
  • Chainalysis is patching the affected vulnerabilities, hardening its systems, and has engaged third-party cybersecurity experts and LLM-assisted reviews.
