Rubrik Launches Hosted, Immutable Backup Vaults for On-Premise NAS Data
Rubrik announced Rubrik-Hosted Protection for On-Premise Unstructured Data, a new offering built on its NAS Cloud Direct service designed to protect enterprise-scale unstructured data (medical scans, seismic surveys, design assets, AI datasets) without requiring customers to procure or manage backup storage hardware. The product addresses ransomware risk to unstructured data by storing backups in isolated, immutable vaults on a separate Rubrik identity domain protected by retention lock, preventing production admin credentials from reaching or deleting backups. This is a vendor product announcement with no reported incident, vulnerability or active threat.
