Meta Acquires AI Coding Startup Conductor
Meta has acquired Conductor, an AI coding startup founded in 2024 that lets users deploy multiple AI agents into parallel workspaces to build software projects. The deal was first reported by Axios and confirmed by Conductor's founder and CEO Charlie Holtz via a blog post, with Meta confirming the acquisition to TechCrunch without providing financial or operational details. Conductor's cloud service will shut down on November 20, after which user cloud data will be deleted, while core product features will continue functioning until early next year when a new interface is expected. The acquisition is part of Meta's broader push to catch up in AI, following the August launch of Muse Code and the earlier acquisition of Moltbook.
