Cloudflare obtains South Korea's ISMS-P certification after KISA audit of 80 controls

Cloudflare announced it has obtained South Korea's Information Security Management System (ISMS) certification under the ISMS-P framework. The certification followed a ten-day audit by auditors appointed by the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) covering 80 controls, and a preparation effort of about a year and a half. This is compliance and product news with no vulnerability, incident or threat activity. For defenders and procurement teams in Korea, it adds a local assurance benchmark alongside Cloudflare's existing ISO/IEC and SOC 2 attestations.

Detalhes técnicos

  • The audit assessed security policy, access control, authentication, encryption, incident response, risk management and disaster recovery against how personal data moves through systems, and against Korea's Personal Information Protection Act.
  • Auditors required readable data flow diagrams of every employee access path to personal information, and tested each access control layer across internal systems, public websites, event pages and the Cloudflare dashboard.
  • Sign-up in South Korea now shows four itemized consents (three required, one optional for marketing). Social sign-up (Google, Apple, GitHub) is disabled there, because those flows bypass Cloudflare's own consent form.
  • The form is selected by the country chosen at sign-up, with IP geolocation (CF-IPCountry / request.cf.country) as the default. Cloudflare notes that IP geolocation is only an estimate.
  • The certificate is valid for three years with an annual surveillance audit. It is held by Cloudflare, Inc.
  • Scope is defined as a service boundary rather than a product list. A product is covered if it is delivered through the certified platform, teams and ISMS. Cloudflare appears on KISA's public register of certified organizations.

Remediação

No remediation is required. Customers in Korea can cite KISA's public register in third-party risk reviews and confirm product coverage by delivery path rather than by name.
