Readwise launches Readwise Books, an e-book store and reading tracker to rival Amazon Kindle and Goodreads
Readwise, the bootstrapped maker of a read-it-later app and highlights companion, has launched Readwise Books, an e-book store and reading tracker positioned against Amazon's Kindle and Goodreads. The app offers "millions" of e-books from the big five publishers, initially in the U.S., plus print books fulfilled via Bookshop.org's distributor and some audiobooks. It differentiates itself with detailed reading analytics (words read, pace, depth, immersion, sessions), a public API and an MCP server for AI agents. Publisher-permitted AI features are planned, though only Harper Collins has opted in so far. This is product and business news with no security threat, vulnerability or incident content.
