Bluetooth SIG Releases Bluetooth 7 Core Specification with High Data Throughput
The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) has released the Bluetooth 7 core specification, introducing High Data Throughput (HDT) as its headline feature. HDT nearly quadruples previous maximum Bluetooth throughput, raising the maximum supported bitrate to 7.5 Mbps from 2 Mbps. This enables wireless lossless audio, improved multi-channel spatial audio, faster firmware updates, quicker smart home device discovery and setup, and reduced latency for gaming peripherals. This is a product/technology announcement with no security vulnerability, exploitation, or incident content.
