Northstar Security exits stealth with $7M seed to detect toxic risk combinations via AI agents

1 fonte(s) · 1 atualização(ões) · publicado 01/11/2026 08:15 · coletado há 11 horas

Northstar Security, a startup building AI agents for security teams, has emerged from stealth with $7 million in seed funding led by Wing Venture Capital, with participation from MVP, Outliers and industry veterans Gerhard Eschelbeck, Renaud Deraison and Justin Somaini. The platform ingests data from existing security and IT tools to build a real-time "Security Context Graph" linking identities, assets, applications, vulnerabilities and business systems. It targets "toxic combinations", where individually tolerable issues together expose critical systems. This is a funding and product announcement with no direct threat or incident.

Detalhes técnicos

  • Example toxic combination: a laptop lacking endpoint protection owned by a privileged user with access to a critical payroll system.
  • Analysts query findings in plain language. Agents can trigger remediation (installing endpoint protection, notifying users, limiting access) with human supervision where appropriate.
  • External AI agents can access the graph via Model Context Protocol (MCP).
  • Integrates with more than 70 enterprise security and IT products, including Okta, GitHub, Workday, Microsoft Defender and Entra, AWS and Google Cloud.
  • CEO and co-founder Amer Deeba previously co-founded Normalyze (acquired by Proofpoint) and was a senior executive at Qualys. CTO Ed Rowe held the same role at Farmers Business Network.
